Port Townsend Pickleball Club (PTPC) Court Scheduling Policy

COURT SCHEDULE

HIGH SCHOOL
Picture
Constantly Changing Schedules

When the high school courts became unavailable to PTPC, the PE Department also said they would let us know if there were times we could play. The above chart schedule is the latest update on play.

1. To respect our neighbors, please keep noise to a minimum.

2. If players can adjust their play level, they may play at skill levels below their level. Players can attempt to play at the next level up but should use their judgment as to whether they can compete at that level.

3. If not enough players show up for the beginner court, then three courts would be designated for Intermediate/Advanced Intermediate. The same would be true for the Advanced. There should be at least six players there for the court to be designated Beginner or Advanced. In other words, court assignments would be fluid depending on the number and type of players there. Adv and Beg courts can play with fewer than 6 players if there are not many players waiting on the Intermediate courts.

4. This is a new schedule and is intended to be changed as we learn more about play patterns and needs.

Player Rotation for Drop-In and Open Play
Generally, follow the procedure that has been used in the past.
If 1 player is waiting, that player goes in and one comes out.
If there are 2-4 players waiting, the two losing players go out, the winners split, and the 2 players next in line go in.
If more than four players are waiting, four go in and four go out.
Winners should limit their games to 2 in a row, and then come out. Use the paddle holders to determine who is up next.

MOUNTAIN VIEW

Use Playtime Scheduler to organize games at Mountain View.
In return for the Club’s management and funding of the MVPC renovation, Port Townsend City has given the club “dedicated hours” at these courts. Dedicated hours are times when the Club has the opportunity and responsibility to administer how play is organized at MVPC. This will allow the Club to organize events like tournaments, socials, clinics, and lessons at MVPC within the dedicated hours. We would like to emphasize, however, that this does not mean that PTPC members have exclusive use of MVPC during the Club’s dedicated hours, nor does it change the fact that the courts are always open to the public.
