Exciting News: Erickson Building Now Open for Indoor Pickleball!

We're thrilled to announce that the Fairground's Erickson Building is now available for play! This represents a significant expansion of our indoor playing options during the winter months.

What We've Secured

We've leased the building for three full months (January through March), five days per week (Tuesday through Saturday), six hours daily (9am-3pm). The space accommodates two courts, and we've invested in new equipment including nets, court line tape, and pickleballs specifically for this location.

How It Works

Our playing schedule combines rated open play and reserved sessions. Please note that a few dates during our lease period are already booked by the fairgrounds and will appear as "blacked out" on Playtime Scheduler.

Only trained PTPC "Hosts" are authorized to schedule sessions at this facility. We're currently working to assign hosts for all Open Play sessions, though this may take a week or two to fully implement. If you're interested in reserved play, either look for an opening in an existing event on Playtime Scheduler or contact a host to request a session. (Please remember our hosts are volunteers and aren't obligated to set up private sessions.)

Important Guidelines

To ensure smooth operations at this new facility, we've established the following rules:

• A designated host must be present for all play sessions

• Only PTPC members in good standing may play (no non-member guests)

• Members must register via Playtime Scheduler (similar to YMCA events)

• Every player must sign a liability waiver before their first session

• The fee is $5 per person per 2-hour session (exact change or personal check only)

Being Good Pickleball Citizens

We ask everyone to practice good pickleball etiquette: please cancel participation more than 24 hours in advance when necessary, and avoid signing up for overlapping sessions at different venues, which prevents others from playing.

While we know this plan isn't perfect, we're committed to making improvements in the coming weeks to enhance your playing experience.
