Rhody Parade
Port Townsend Pickleball Club will be in the 2026 Rhody Parade on 16 May 2026 (next Saturday)!!! Come join your fellow Club members as we walk in the Parade and promote the sport of Pickleball. Like last year, we will be right behind the YMCA contingent.
Please arrive at 12:30 at the corner of Cass and Clay streets and bring your paddles! The Parade starts in Uptown and finishes in Downtown.
Beginner Lessons
On Saturday, 2 May, the Port Townsend Pickleball Club hosted its first Beginner Lessons session of 2026. Katie Holmes did a great job organizing the session at the Courthouse County Park's courts. The lessons covered everything students needed to get started playing this addictive sport. We had 8 enthusiastic students that were playing pickleball games by the end of the session. Volunteer teachers and students alike had a great time!
The Port Townsend Pickleball Club will be offering Beginner Lessons on the first Saturday of every month through September (except in July, which will be on 11 July). If you're interested in learning more about pickleball, it's a great opportunity.
Tournament Preparation Clinics
On 10 May, Cheryl Hollatz and her team ran the first of two clinics on what to expect if you compete in a tournament, covering everything from pre-tournament preparation, starting your matches, sportsmanship, dealing with nerves, partner communication, and tournament etiquette. She will be holding another clinic, covering the same material, on 17 May – sign up on Playtime Scheduler.
Annual Meeting – 13 June
Mark your calendars for the Port Townsend Pickleball Club Annual Meeting on 13 June 2026 at 11am to 12:30ish. We’ll have the meeting at the Mountain View YMCA in the Annex Building across from the reception area. This year we’re having a PotLuck, so bring your favorite dish to share with your fellow pickleball members.
