PTPC Senior State Games Results and August Social Round Robin

Washington State Senior Games (WSSG)

The Port Townsend Pickleball Club had a good showing at the WSSG last weekend (7-10 August).  We had the following great performances:

• Jeannie Ramsay and her Sequim partner, Donna Quaif, took Gold in Advanced Women’s Doubles Skill: (4.0 And Above) Age: (80 And Above)

• Mary Critchlow and Sharlene Shiroma took Silver in Advanced Women’s Doubles Skill: (4.0 And Above) Age: (65 To 69)

• Annette Joyce and Roxy Suzuki took Bronze in Women’s Doubles Skill: (3.0 And Under) Age: (65 To 69)

• Steve Smolinski and Steve Stratton took Bronze in Intermediate Men’s Doubles (3.5) Age: (65 To 69)

August Social Round Robin

Round Robin Winners

21 daring PTPC members had a great time at the Social Round Robin on Sunday (10 August)!   We had mulligans, extra players, one-on-two competitions and even frying pan paddles (oh my!).  Paul Sanchez and Bill Ferguson ended up winning the competition after defeating Kristina Wilkening and Kristin Deverin in a close gold-medal game.  Alan Jones and Shea Butler took third.  It was a great event.  Don’t miss next month’s Mortimer Round Robin Social at the High School Courts on Sunday, 14 September; it’s sure to be a blast!
