Heidi Lappetito Memorial Advanced Tournament (3.5-4.5), Mountain View Courts, Saturday and Sunday, 15-16 August

We are still looking for teams to join in the fun for all three categories, Women’s Doubles Saturday morning, Men’s Doubles Saturday afternoon and Mixed Doubles Sunday morning.  If you can't play, come out and cheer on your fellow pickleball enthusiasts.

Registration closes this Thursday, 13 August, and signup is via Playtime Scheduler.

Doug Hastings Intermediate and Advanced Clinics, Mountain View Courts, Sunday, 30 August

Doug conducted Clinics in both June and July, and we received very positive feedback from both sessions.  Back by popular demand, he will be hosting another Clinic at the end of this month with an Intermediate level session in the morning (10:00-12:30), and Advanced session in the afternoon (1:00-3:30).

Cost is $55/player and sign up is on the PTPC website at https://www.ptpickleball.com/events.

Intermediate Tournament (3.0-3.5), Mountain View Courts, Saturday and Sunday, 5-6 September

Based on the feedback from the MiLP Tournament in July, the Club will host an Intermediate tournament in September.

Signup is via Playtime Scheduler.

Beginner Lessons, Courthouse Courts, Saturday, 5 September

Katie Holmes will be running the final session of Beginner Lessons for the year.  The lessons have been very well received, and thanks to Katie and all the other volunteer instructors for growing the Pickleball community here in Port Townsend!

Intermediate Round Robin

The popularity of this event continues to grow!  Consequently, we’ve had some confusion regarding the sign-up procedures.  Our hosts post every Round Robin on Playtime Scheduler in the morning 5 days prior to each event.  This is a first-come, first served process.  These events fill up quickly, so you need to be proactive to join.  Carol Anthony-Gartlan and Mona Sharpe are posting sessions for intermediate players after Round Robin, from 11am to 1pm, that offers members more opportunity for play.

Congratulations to the following Club members!

We had a great showing at the Washington State Senior Games last weekend, with three teams qualifying for the National Senior Games in July 2027.

  • Jeannie Ramsey took Silver with her partner, Steve Bennet (from Port Angeles) in the over 80 age bracket, 3.5 level.

  • Shar Shiroma and Steve Smolinski won all their games in the over 70 age bracket, 3.5 level to take Gold

  • Steve Smolinski and his partner Drew Ealey (from Sequim) won Gold in the over 70 age bracket, 3.5 level

Our members also did well at the Bainbridge Founders Tournament

  • Kristen Deverin and Scott Sonier (from Sequim) took Bronze in Mixed Doubles, age 10-49, 3.5 level

  • Libby Hartman and Shannon Thaxton (from Sequim) took Gold in Women’s Doubles, age 50+, 4.0 level

Finally, from our friends in the Sequim Picklers Club:

PicklePalooza Champion’s Cup, taking place on Saturday and Sunday, 26-27 September!

Get ready for two days of exciting competition, community spirit, and nonstop fun at the Second Annual 7 Cedars PicklePalooza! Whether you're playing for bragging rights or just looking for a great weekend with family and friends, PicklePalooza has something for everyone.

This year's event features two unique tournaments!  As always, a lively recreational tournament at 7 Cedars Hotel, where streetball-style play meets a festival atmosphere complete with a beer garden, great food, live music, yard games, and activities for kids. New for 2026 is the PicklePalooza Champions Cup, a competitive tournament hosted by the Sequim Picklers at Carrie Blake Park, bringing together top players for high-level competition.  From first-time players to seasoned competitors, PicklePalooza is the Olympic Peninsula's premier pickleball celebration.  Medalists in our Advanced and Intermediate tournaments get free entry into the Champions Cup.

Pickle on!
