We're thrilled to report that our Port Townsend Pickleball Club celebrated an exciting milestone this past weekend, hosting our first-ever Advanced Doubles tournaments with strong participation from competitive players across the region.
Women's Advanced Doubles Showcases Stellar Play
Our Saturday, August 3rd tournament featured eight talented women's teams battling through an intense round-robin format. The bronze medal match delivered unexpected drama as our local favorites Jeannie Ramsey and Libbey Lincoln challenged visitors Fay Bruns (Maricopa, AZ) and Cheryl Holatz (Portland, OR) in a closely contested showdown.
The gold medal match proved equally thrilling, with Heidi Poley and Sherri Henke ultimately claiming victory over Mary Critchlow and Sharlene Shiroma in a best-of-three series that highlighted the remarkable skill level present in our pickleball community.

Rick Kelly and Doug Kurata emerged victorious in a hard-fought bronze medal match against Don Bryson and Steve Smolinski. Meanwhile, the gold medal showdown featured stylishly-dressed Brandon Mack and Keith Hitchcock triumphing over Gilly Gilmore and Steve Stratton in an electrifying best-of-three series.
