PTPC had an Exciting Advanced Mixed Doubles Tournament!

Port Townsend Pickleball Club hosted its Advanced Mixed Doubles tournament today (27 July). We originally had 10 teams, but one of our teams dropped out due to illness, and Heidi Poley had to drop out with an injury, but much to Steve Smolinski's relief, Diane Bryson stepped in to keep the team in the action. We had a 36-game Round-Robbin, with each team playing 8 opponents. We had a number of close matches, so it was exciting to watch the competition. Mary Critchlow and Richard Reed won the Round Robin, winning all of their games.

Joshua Sage & Heidi Lappetito battled Mary & Richard in the Semi-Finals, edging them out to advance to the Gold-Medal Round. Libby & Robert Hartman defeated Brandon & Erica Mack to face Joshua & Heidi for the Gold medal. Here are the final results:
